Billy’s Page

Billy Cardine started playing classical music on the piano at age 4, and since then has performed and composed a wide range of music for a variety of instruments. These days, he can most often be found playing a slide guitar of some sort. Billy plays slide guitars from different corners of the world including Scheerhorn Resophonic guitars, the Hawaiin Weissenborn, a 22 string Indian Chanturangui built for him by his guru in Kolkotta, Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, a much anticipated Clinesmith pedal guitar and a hybrid electric dobro. As a performing artist, Billy has played throughout the USA, Canada, Europe and Japan. Some highlights have been at the original Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, NYC’s Carnegie Hall as a part of Edgar Meyer’s ‘Porous Borders of Music’ and The Kennedy Center for A Tribute to American String Music. He was awarded an Indie Acoustic Music Project award for producing and playing on their ‘Roots’ album of 2006. Billy’s other current performing projects include the acoustic ‘supergroup’ The Good Thieves, an Indie Rock band called Melanaster, and a New World Acoustic project w/ percussionist extraordinaire Ben Mawhorter.
