Landon’s Page

Originally from Charlottesville, Va, Landon started playing music in elementary school where he played violin in the school’s orchestra program. Soon thereafter, his older brother brought home a guitar. Landon soon found himself sneaking into his older brother’s room in order to strum on the new instrument. Landon quickly became obsessed with the guitar, teaching himself melodies and made-up chords. He finally convinced his parents to let him take guitar lessons at the local music store and he quickly began learning formal guitar techniques.

At the age of 15, Landon began playing at restaurants and bars around town getting the chance to sit in with some of the area’s older musicians who introduced him to new styles of music and an abundance of new guitar sounds. Several years later, his family moved to eastern Virginia where Landon met and began studying with renowned harp-guitarist, Stephen Bennett.

Landon has played with several bands including The New Best Recipe, Adrienne Young and Little Sadie, Gallatin Canyon, and the Andy Thacker and Landon Fishburne Duo. While he performs regularly throughout Virginia, Landon has also traveled throughout the country performing at festivals, theaters and on TV and radio. Performances include appearances at Floyd Fest, Calgary Folk Festival, The Festie Experience, The Jefferson Theater, on The Food Network’s “Emeril Live”, and as part of the nationally broadcast radio show, E-town, recorded at Boulder Theater in Boulder, CO.
